Sweden used to stand firmly with global human rights movements. The pilot Carl Gustaf von Rosen remains a legendary symbol of Sweden’s moral courage on the world stage.

But earlier this year, the Kristersson government chose to completely abandon those values, abstaining from a historic UN resolution on slave trade justice.

In a newly published debate article in Global Bar Magazine, AfI’s Human Rights Advocate Peter Chekwube Abugu breaks down this devastating decline in Sweden’s moral leadership and what it means for the future of the country’s international standing.
